Most casino problems are solved at the first step: a delayed withdrawal, a bonus that did not credit, a verification request that dragged. When they are not, a structured approach gives you the best chance. This guide sets out a ladder you can follow. Which rungs are open depends on who licenses your casino.

Step 1: Gather your evidence

  • Account name, registered email and the casino’s legal entity.
  • Transaction IDs, dates and amounts, plus bank or e-wallet statements.
  • Screenshots of the bonus terms and the page where the problem occurred.
  • Chat transcripts and emails, with reference numbers.

Step 2: Customer support, in writing

State the problem, the outcome you want and a reasonable deadline in one short message. Use email or a ticket system so there is a record. If live chat is the only channel, email yourself the transcript.

Step 3: The formal complaint

Most licences require operators to run a complaints procedure. Find it in the terms and use its wording: “I am making a formal complaint”. The terms normally set a response period. Note the date.

Step 4: Alternative dispute resolution (ADR)

If the operator’s answer does not resolve it, many licensors point to an approved independent dispute service. Rules differ: some require you to use the operator’s procedure first and to file within a set period, and some do not take cases from every country. Check the terms for the named service.

Step 5: The licensing authority

Licensors such as Malta’s MGA or the UKGC have complaints processes of their own. They typically look at breaches of licence conditions rather than award individual compensation, and some accept complaints only from their own market.

Step 6: Payment-provider routes

If you paid by card, your bank may have a chargeback or dispute process. Success depends on the facts, the time limits and the card scheme rules, and not every gambling transaction qualifies, so ask your bank rather than assuming.

Where Irish regulation will fit

Once the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland begins licensing online casinos, complaints about licensed operators will have a home market route. Until then do not expect GRAI to resolve a dispute with an operator it does not license, though it can be told about problems. See the licensing timeline.

Keep your head

Do not deposit more to “unlock” a withdrawal, do not share passwords, and do not pay anyone who promises to recover your money for a fee. If a dispute is affecting your wellbeing, call the free helpline on 1800 936 725.
